Saia-Burgess solenoids are found in numerous applications that require a locking device. One of our smaller, open frame solenoids is used as a key locking mechanism to allow or restrict entry to the front panel of a security cabinet where up to 1000 keys are stored. Each key is individually locked in its own location. The solenoid is actuated at 28V for 50 msec then held at 14V. The load working against the solenoid is a spring. When the solenoid is energized the key is allowed to move into the solenoid body and this movement is tracked by time, date, and user code. This high capacity key storage device is used by rental car agencies, dealerships and building management companies. |
