The Medical Industry is a substantial user of linear solenoids. Rotary solenoids are found in defibrillator applications but for the most part, linear products are suited to the industry. Linear products are commonly used in diagnostic equipment, surgical equipment, machines for the treatment of various illnesses and in pharmaceutical dispensing machinery. Specifically, solenoids are used in: |
- Tablet counting/dispensing machines
- Blood analysis equipment (our largest medical application)
- Surgical instruments such as ophthalmic instructions
- Surgical laser controls
Treatment applications are most widely represented by IV control solenoids, also called pinch valve applications. These solenoids interrupt the flow of fluid in IV equipment. Diagnostic applications include X-Ray, CAT Scan and Dry Imaging/Film Printing Equipment.
Soft Shift products are used on surgical instruments to proportionally control a surgeon's ability to either apply pressure to the eye during ophthalmic surgery or to proportionally control other types of surgical instruments.
