Solenoids > Discover Solenoids: High Volume Manufacturing
High Volume Manufacturing
Efficiency, consistency and throughput are the big pluses for this assembly system. Two operators are needed to run the line (below); one at the beginning to load the coil assemblies, and one to pack completed solenoid assemblies.
Discrete operations are performed by individual workstations as each low profile solenoid makes its way around the circular flow assembly line.
Tapping the technology.

Fully automated production lines are developed in-house to meet the needs of our highest volume customers.
In cooperation with a customer who required a continuously produced pull system for low profile solenoids we developed this 15 workstation automated assembly machine. The system offers high unit-to-unit consistency and reliability, and a very low unit cost. Coil assemblies are manually started onto the circular path assembly line. Each subsequent automated workstation adds additional components or performs assembly functions such as drilling, punching, labeling, etc. Ledex® and Dormeyer® products benefit from a "homefield advantage" in that such complex machining centers are designed and manufactured by a nearby sister division. Working with the customer, this assembly system took less than one year to develop, build, and install in order to become fully operational. This automated workcell has the capacity to produce over a million units per year.
