Johnson Electric Launches Expanded Actuator Range for Touch Screen Haptics - Best frequency range and force in compact package
Johnson Electric today announced an addition to its growing range of haptic actuator product for touch screen displays and surfaces.  Haptic feedback gives a user confirmation, through tactile sensations, that a selection has been made in any type of control system.  Launched under the Ledex-HA brand, the HA300 haptic actuator provides the highest G force rating with rapid response times for screens and displays > 375 mm in size.  The HA300 has a rated life of greater than 60 million cycles and acceleration to 20G.  The Ledex actuator has a low output frequency, which is ideally suited to human discernment and has controllable stimuli which allows for multiple haptic effects for different circumstances.

"Haptic feedback is emerging as an important factor for automotive and entertainment applications” said Jim Dick, Johnson Electric's senior vice president of Strategic Marketing.  "As haptic technology develops, it can also be deployed in medical devices, business machines and industrial controls," he added.

Johnson Electric Launches Miniature Solenoids
Industry's Smallest, High Force Solenoids
Johnson Electric today announced its latest extension to the Ledex brand STA product line. The Ledex Mini-STA's are the smallest tubular solenoids and weighs < 15g with hold forces to 5N. These compact solenoids deliver high holding force per volume and provides over 5 million operating cycles. Available in Imperial and Metric sizes, the 3/8" (9.5mm) OD in combination with the 1/2" (13 mm) OD Mini-STA solenoids provide designers with a platform of miniature actuators ideally suited for battery operation.

"The Ledex Mini-STA's are the industry's smallest solenoids and are ideal for medical designers who are faced with the challenge of developing smaller diagnostic and treatment devices for home and point of care environments”, said Jim Dick, Johnson Electric's senior vice president of Strategic Marketing. “Battery operated solenoids with high force are essential in future point of care and desktop medical applications" he added.

Johnson Electric Launches Quiet Solenoid Product Line
Best solution for Low Noise in Medical Diagnostic Equipment

Johnson Electric today announced a new solenoid product line using new low noise technologies for solenoid actuation. Equipment manufacturers in the medical diagnostic, medical device and business machine industries face increasing demands for high speed processing and quiet operation. Advances in this area result in lower noise working environments.  The Ledex STA-Q solenoid, offers a 45 dBA audible noise reduction versus industry standard solenoid performance.  This industry leading low noise performance is attained without reducing the long life and reliability that currently defines the Ledex STA tubular product line.

“Noise is becoming an important factor for diagnostic equipment installed in high volume labs and also in physicians’ offices”, said Jim Dick, Johnson Electric’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing. “The STA-Q is the industry’s quietest solenoid” he added.

Johnson Electric Launches High Performance Linear Solenoid - Best Solution for Long Life and High Force

VANDALIA, OH, 03 April,
2012 - Johnson Electric today announced the Ledex B14-HD solenoid to expand its industry-leading product line. Utilizing innovative internal construction, this addition to the linear solenoid portfolio offers an attractive combination of force and life previously unavailable in the market. The B14-HD, released under the Ledex brand, offers a 30-times increase in operational life to reduce down time and service costs for high volume processing applications. This new product increases the force output by 50 percent in the same package size as the traditional B14 solenoid.

"The B14-HD solenoid fills a performance gap in industrial applications such as ATMs, point-of-sale terminals, beverage dispensing and locking systems," said Jim Dick, Johnson Electric's senior vice president of Strategic Marketing.
